    Visit of the Italian-Albanian Program in the Lombardy region of Milan, Italy

    The Italo-Albanian program on its visit to Milan, Italy, organized important meetings for all those Albanian businesses that want to develop and develop partnerships for the development of their business between the two countries. These meetings were made possible by "Regione Lombardia", "Camera di Commerce Milan "and" Assolombarda Confindustria Milano Monza and Brianza ". The Italo-Albanian SME Development Program in Albania in cooperation with these institutions aims to strengthen partnerships by benefiting from the Italian experience of financial and non-financial models in support of SMEs. The program held meetings with representatives of the Lombardy region, which consisted of the financial instruments provided by this region, for increasing competitiveness and providing SME advocacy support. The Program Management (PMU) had a fruitful meeting with z. Manilio Illumi, Director of Economic Development of Milan, Italian Chamber of Commerce. This meeting focused on enhancing future cooperation between the two institutions, building bridges, and facilitating partnerships between Italian suppliers and Albanian entrepreneurs.

    Italian-Albanian SME Development Program in Albania to respond to a new phase of development of Entrepreneurship, Growth and competitiveness

    Following the planned activities in the districts, on 12 October 2018, in the city of Korca, was organized the activity "Italian-Albanian SME Development Program in Albania to respond to a new phase of development of Entrepreneurship, Growth and competitiveness ". This event was organized under the auspices of the Italian-Albanian SME Development Program in Albania in close cooperation with the Regional Development Agency (Korça). The objective of this activity was to provide information and access to finance through the promotion of financial instruments and support programs available to the Albanian private sector, aiming at creating a communication space between venture-seeking entrepreneurs and banks or public actors who could 'financially respond to this demand, thus reducing the costs and time to find the most suitable funding line for Albanian entrepreneurs' projects. During the meeting there were 50 small and medium sized enterprises from the Korca region as well as representatives from the bank private trading and business association representatives. During this activity, various experts discussed the various opportunities to support local businesses through funding schemes. The Director of the Italian-Albanian SME Development Program Management Unit in Albania after delivering f launched a presentation on "SME Financing - Financial and Non-Financial Instruments of the PRODAPS & IASME Program in Support of SME Development", which are designed to improve access to finance for Albanian SMEs , by creating favorable conditions for the realization of productive investments. He praised the potential of this economic zone, as well as the large number of SMEs concentrated in this region, both of the nature of production, processing, agro-processing, farmers, wood processing and construction materials, etc. During this expert activity of PMU addressed issues related to the opportunities, conditions and pathway that SMEs should pursue to take advantage of the financial opportunities offered in favor of their development from the PRODAPS & IASME Program.

    Workshop: “The Italian-Albanian Program for the Development of Albanian SMEs responding to the challenges of a new development stage of Entrepreneurship, Growth and Competitiveness”

    The Italian-Albanian Program for the Development of Albanian SMEs, in close cooperation with the Durrës Chamber of Commerce, held in the city of Durrës an activity with topic “The Italian-Albanian Program for the Development of Albanian SMEs responding to the challenges of a new development stage of Entrepreneurship, Growth and Competitiveness”. Approximately 40 small and medium-sized enterprises from the region of Durrës, and representatives of private commercial banks and business associations participated in the meeting. During this activity, different experts discussed on different opportunities to support the local business through funding schemes. During the activity, the PMU experts addressed issues related to the opportunities, conditions and the path to be followed by the SMEs in order to benefit from the financial opportunities provided for their development by the PRODAPS & IASME Program. The workshop also focused on the grants that the Program has provided in support of businesses, and particularly SMEs, in order to enhance their capacities and to improve their access to international markets. The round-table held by the end of the workshop enabled the identification of companies with a high interest and need for assistance from consultants and funding from the Program for all Italian machineries required by them. The information workshops organised by PRODAPS & IASME shall continue to expand to other districts of Albania.

    Terra Madre Salone del Gusto

    Terra Madre Salone del Gusto is the largest international event dedicated to food. Its 12th edition, organized in cooperation with the Region of Piemonte and the city of Torino, took place from 20 to 24 September 2018 in Torino, Italy. The Italian-Albanian Program, in cooperation with its partner “Business Albania”, represented by its President Mr. Luan Bregasi, the Albanian Investment Development Agency (AIDA) and the Albanian Agribusiness Council (KASH), participated in several activities that took place during these days, including several forums and conferences featuring influential people who shared their perspectives on how food has the potential to change the world. These meetings highlighted important issues that will affect the development of agro-industry in the upcoming years, such as organic farming based on natural elements, technological innovation, the combination of entrepreneurship and craftsmanship for the provision of high-quality food products, and the efficient use of environmental factors for achieving a green economy. Several Workshops and Cooking Classes were held by professional cooks trying to raise awareness of the fact that food consumption shall be based not only on satisfaction, but also on the responsibility to support local producers, and using their creativity to promote their local areas. The B2B meetings that took place throughout the duration of the activity showed a great interest in establishing potential cooperation channels between Albania and Italy, and in finding potential buyers of Italian machineries in the Albanian market. Through the soft loan packages it provides, the Italian-Albanian Program will enable the establishment of these channels, which will be finalized with the provision of crediting.

    Information and orientation workshop: “Enhancing access to finances - Financial instruments and programs supporting the Albanian SMEs”

    As part of the activities planned in the districts, on June 19, 2018, in Durrës, the activity with the topic “Enhancing access to finances - Financial instruments and programs supporting the Albanian SMEs” was organised This event was organised under the auspices of the Italian-Albanian Program for the Development of Albanian SMEs, in close cooperation with the Albanian Investment and Development Agency - AIDA.
    The purpose of this activity was to provide information and access to finance through the promotion of financial instruments and support programs made available to the Albanian Private Sector, aiming to create a communication bridge between entrepreneurs seeking funding and the banks or public stakeholders that can financially respond to this demand, thus reducing costs and time to find the most appropriate funding line for the projects of Albanian entrepreneurs. The information workshops organised by PRODAPS & IASME shall continue to expand to other districts of Albania.

    Following the planned activities in the districts, on June 13, 2018,was organized in Korca, the activity with the topic “Enhancing access to finances - Financial instruments and programs supporting the Albanian SMEs” . This event was organised under the auspices of the Italian-Albanian Program for the Development of Albanian SMEs, in close cooperation with the Albanian Investment and Development Agency - AIDA.
    Experts developed this PRODAPS & IASME promotional activity to support lending, manufacturing and processing, to create a unique, long-lasting and sustainable system that encourages Albanian entrepreneurs' investments, given that the program considers as the primary beneficiaries of the enterprises operating in the manufacturing and processing sector and in the less developed areas of the country.
    The credit line and program guarantee fund provide conditions with major financial advantages, interest rates up to 3% for loans in Euros and guarantee fund coverage up to 60% of the required loan, for investment projects carried out by special categories of SMEs (in the manufacturing and processing sector, agro-processing, exporting, located in the most backward areas of the country, or those that have a positive impact in terms of creating employment opportunities, reducing pollution or producing energy from renewable sources.
    The information seminars organized by PRODAPS & IASME will continue to be held in other districts of Albania.

    Program Management Unit (PMU) and Albanian Investment Development Agency (AIDA), have organized yesterday "Info Day" in the city of Përmet.

    Program Experts Ms. Briolda Jahaj and Mrs. Loris Hoxha focused on this meeting information on the three financial components of the Italian-Albanian Program. They appreciated the potential of this economic zone, as well as the large number of SMEs concentrated in this region, such as production, agro-processing, farmers, inns, hotels, dairies etc. Experts include, among other things, profiling and working philosophy and the achievements of the PRODAPS and IASME programs to date as a successful program to support local entrepreneurship. Ms. Jahaj mentioned the benefit of the program in improving SME access to financial services, promoting greater interaction between SMEs and Banks, providing the Bank's specialization in mid-term credit operations. This table discussed the issues faced by business and concrete assistance provided by the Italian-Albanian Program.
